This is the one page on this site with no jokes in the load-bearing parts. Everyone deserves to be warned about untrusted websites, regardless of how they browse.

Our commitment

untrusted.site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Accessibility considerations are built into the site rather than bolted on:

• Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, headings, and labeled navigation on every page.
• "Skip to main content" links on every page.
• All animation, blinking, and scrolling effects are disabled automatically for visitors whose systems request reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion). No content is conveyed only through motion.
• Color is never the sole carrier of meaning; text alternatives accompany decorative iconography.
• The site works without JavaScript. The single script on the retro parody page is a progressive enhancement; all educational content remains reachable without it.
• Keyboard navigation is supported throughout; interactive elements are native links and buttons with visible focus.

Known limitations

Honesty section, as is our brand:

• The "1998 scam page" parody design intentionally recreates a hostile visual era — high-saturation colors, dense visual noise, and (motion-permitting) blinking and scrolling text. It exists as a museum piece. Every piece of information on it is also available on the main page in a calmer form, and the parody itself honors reduced-motion preferences.
• Some low-contrast "fine print" on parody pages is itself part of the lesson (scam sites bury the truth in fine print). The same information is always restated accessibly nearby.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, please tell us via the contact listed in our security.txt. Reports are genuinely welcome and will be addressed — being untrusted is our joke, being unusable is not.

Compatibility

The site is static HTML and CSS, tested against current versions of major browsers and screen-reader-friendly by construction. It contains no media requiring captions or transcripts, no time limits, no auto-playing audio, and no CAPTCHA — partly on principle, partly because we have nothing worth gatekeeping.
